Some live in foreign countries and they come back, some others live in Venezuela but they want to leave for one reason: they see a government's imminent change. Just within 30 days.
Venezuelans who come back emigrated during the 14 years of communist regime. They are about 500,000. They fled, among many other reasons, due to political persecution, as happens in Cuba; due to insecurity, to find a job and for a better quality of life.
They left despite Venezuelans have never had the habit to emigrate from their country. Because they, as they own mother, deeply love their motherland; because they have never had serious threats against their lives, as in this evil regime; as Venezuelans are convinced that there is nothing better than their own home. No matter if they have to eat a hard arepa, but in Venezuela.
Nevertheless, those who want to leave Venezuela are others: pro-government people and the foreigners that have made deceitful businesses with this government.
The foreigners that are packing are those who fear that the next government will not support the onerous contracts that they signed with the current government. They are right. They would be Cubans, Nicaraguans, Iranians, some Chinese, Russians, Belorussians, Argentineans and some others who took advantage of our wealth distribution that this government have share out in order to expand its corrupt communist project.
However, there are also foreigners who have reached transparent agreements with the nation. They are opening their suitcases to consolidate the projects that will guarantee Venezuela's development. They will show them timely. After all, they know that only democratic governments have two guarantee principles: to honor agreements and legal certainty.
But, many pro-government people are also packing to flee.
I imagine that they are running, desperate to find the most suitable country to emigrate. Even so, not all of them are pro-government. Just those afraid of something. Ranging from the outgoing President, including ministers and judges, to all those who have contributed to the country's economical and moral ruin.
In this respect, it would be interesting to know where the outgoing President is going to flee. Also the Minister of Energy, the National Assembly President, the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), the president of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ), the Attorney General, the Ombudsman, as well as the people who made from this government a nightmare for Venezuelans. Big and hard extradition work for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
We cannot forget the people denounced by the opposition and the free press; former judges Aponte Aponte and Velásquez Alvaray; "The Turkish" Walid Makled. All walk around there, with absolutely impunity, as if butter would not melt in their mouth.
Anyways, in this world of travelers, it would not be surprising to know that many of them have already packed and that they sent their suitcases to their shelters. Neither to know that they sent the rest of the public money, not in saddlebags as in Pérez Jimenez's times, but in electronic transfers to foreign banks.
Although they will also carry in the suitcase the most implacable judge, their conscience, as they are keenly aware that they did something wrong; we will see if the new Venezuelan justice is as blind as the current one as to leave unpunished this barbarian and destructive government of 14 years.
We will see.
