On Thursday, the Attorney General of Venezuela, Luisa Ortega Díaz, reported that she had requested an arrest warrant against a Venezuelan allegedly involved in the Odebrecht case.
The Venezuelan AG Office sent a letter to the Brazilian Attorney General "so that a certified copy of the allegation made by Marcelo Odebrecht, as well as any other proceeding on record in that file, may be sent," added Ortega Díaz in a press release from the Attorney General’s Office.
Ortega Díaz said she will contact Brazilian AG Rodrigo Janiot so that a Venezuelan prosecutor can go to Brazil to interview those involved in the case and that subject to the investigation of the Brazilian AG Office, according to agency news AVN.
She also said that she asked the competent authorities of Switzerland to provide a certified copy of the list of Venezuelans who received deposits from banks in that country from the company Odebrecht or another representative of that firm, in addition to any other information related to the case.
