Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro asked on Sunday to reactivate the construction of all the works that were under the responsibility of the Brazilian company Odebrecht in Venezuela.
Odebrecht, which is involved in a corruption network in Latin America known as "Lava Jato" operation, was forced by a Brazilian court to halt infrastructure projects in six countries, where there were at least 16 works under construction.
Affected countries include Argentina, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras and Venezuela. In Venezuela, five projects were developed; the largest of which was the expansion of the Caracas Metro and the Astialba shipyard, which would build tankers for Pdvsa.
