Venezuelan Attorney General Luisa Ortega Diaz ordered an investigation into the alleged bribery to Venezuelan from construction company Odebrecht.
Ortega Díaz highlighted that the authorities of Switzerland were asked to provide information on Venezuelans’ bank accounts in that country and said she would request the collaboration of the Brazilian Attorney General Office to coordinate investigations.
Brazilian construction company Odebrecht paid approximately USD788 million in bribes in 12 countries in Latin America and Africa, including Brazil, according to documents published by the US Department of Justice, according to the Efe news agency.
