From the Venezuelan navy’s coastguard station in north-central Vargas state, regulatory authorities sent 375 tons of different building machinery to help reconstruct dwellings in Cuba, a country hit by hurricane Matthew.
The Minister of Habitat and Housing Manuel Quevedo and the Vice-President for the Social Area Jorge Arreaza took part in the initiative.
In Quevedo’s words, the machinery will allow the restoration of 250 dwellings and roads in the most hurricane-ravaged areas.
Additionally, Venezuela sent several humanitarian aid cargoes to Haiti, as well as heavy machinery to remove debris, clear roads and restore bridges.
