Guyana’s President David Granger and an advisory team held a meeting with Dag Halvor Nylander, the new representative appointed by the United Nations (UN) to settle a long-standing dispute between Venezuela and Guyana, a senior officer of Guyana’s Foreign Office told Efe.
Previously, on Tuesday, Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs Delcy Rodríguez, met with Nylander, designated by UN Secretary General António Guterres to take part in the Good Offices process concerning the Essequibo, AVN reported.
Nylander is set to prepare a report on the findings of his meetings and submit it to the UN Secretary-General.
On Monday, the UN reported that Nylander would hold high-level meetings with regulatory authorities both in Caracas and in Georgetown.
