A total number of 130.35 killings in every 100,000 inhabitants were recorded in Caracas in 2016, turning it into the most violent city in the world, according to a report released by a Mexican NGO.
The ranking, prepared by the Citizen Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice, takes into account cities with 300,000 or more inhabitants.
The number of murders in Caracas, again top in the list as in 2015, “confirms the appalling crime crisis in Venezuela.”
The NGO’s ranking features also the Venezuelan cities Maturín, Guayana and Valencia, Efe cited.
