Opposition Miranda state governor Henrique Capriles Radonski said the Venezuelan government had a deadline until November 3 to revoke the decision to put on hold the collection of 20% of signatures of the country’s electorate to activate a presidential recall vote. Otherwise, he warned, Venezuelan citizens will stage a march that day towards the Miraflores Presidential Palace, downtown Caracas.
On Wednesday, during the rally called “Takeover of Venezuela,” Capriles addressed to the Executive Office: “Either you allow the people (to express themselves), restore the constitutional order, or we will head for Miraflores on November 3.”
The governor further explained he decided not to instruct rally-goers to reach the presidential palace on Wednesday so as to let people living in the provinces to join the demonstration later.
