Nature itself laid out a whole range of blues, greens and turquoises in the waters of this island comprising Los Roques archipelago. Lonely, idyllic beaches covered with the finest and whitest sand that one might think of and warm waters all year round have turned this destination into a paradise. Many fresh water pools form a pool near closer cays; hence the name. A place suitable for water sports and honeymooners.
square kilometers of coral reef covers the Los Roques Archipelago National Park, which is considered the biggest and most preserved sea park in Latin America. It is located directly north of Caracas and La Guaira (north-central Vargas state). Cayo de Agua is on the far west side of the park.
Through regular flights from Maiquetía, Maracaibo and Porlamar. Shallow-draft yachts and sailing boats also may dock at the archipelago, whose population totals 3,100 inhabitants. The Great Roque is the most populated island.
