Venezuelan ministers on Monday handed in their resignation to President Nicolás Maduro, so he can reshuffle the cabinet of ministers, Vice-President Jorge Arreaza announced.

He explained that this decision was agreed with President Maduro, in the context of a program to make the State more efficient, especially with respect to the citizen, and to fight corruption at different government levels, AFP underscored.

For his part, President Maduro publicly acknowledged the decision via his Twitter account. "I thank all the ministers for having handed in their resignations, in a move that paves the path for me to make the necessary changes," he posted.

Earlier in January, the cabinet of ministers also handed in their resignations to President Maduro as part of a government revamping; no major changes were made though.
