Carlos Ocariz, the mayor of Sucre municipality, Miranda state, said that the two mayors captured on Wednesday night, Enzo Scarano and Daniel Ceballos, in addition to the leader of opposition Voluntad Popular (People's Will) party, Leopoldo López, detained last February, "have their conviction and willingness to fight intact."

During a radio interview, the mayor reported that at dawn on Thursday, they had the opportunity to meet with the detainees in Ramo Verde military jail.

Ocariz claimed that the bench warrant against the mayor of San Cristóbal, the capital city of Andean Táchira state, Daniel Ceballos, was issued after his capture. As regards Enzo Scarano, the mayor of San Diego municipality in central Carabobo state, "the pieces of evidence for Scarano's trial are some twits. He was sued, sentenced and detained in record time."

In the opinion of Ocariz, "there is chasing of dissent and censorship on mass media." He also said that public powers in Venezuela are kidnapped. "The term ‘democracy' is too much for them."
