Three people shot dead in north Venezuela amid anti-gov't protest

Protests taking place on Wednesday in Valencia, Carabobo state, north Venezuela, took a toll of three people shot dead.

Jesús Enrique Acosta, an engineering student at the University of Carabobo, was shot in the head and killed in La Isabelica, Valencia, the capital of Carabobo state, north Venezuela. Additionally, National Guard captain Ernesto Bravo Bracho was shot dead when facing demonstrators in Mañongo, also in Carabobo state. Guillermo Sánchez (42) was shot dead as he painted the facade of his house, in La Isabelica, Valencia.

Carabobo state Governor Francisco Ameliach confirmed the death of Captain Bravo Bracho.

In this way, the number of people killed in Carabobo state since anti-government demonstrations started early in February hit five. Génesis Carmona was shot dead while demonstrating February 19, while Geraldine Moreno died three days after she was shot in the eye.
