Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro said on Wednesday it seemed the "diplomatic efforts" made by the Venezuelan government "to prevent medling in the country's domestic affairs" have not been understood, and stressed that domestic issues "should be solved by Venezuelans only."

Maduro commented that he is planning to send in the next few hours a "firm" response to "a lackey government that is openly conspiring against the Venezuelan homeland." He would not say what country he referred to.

Moreover, the Venezuelan president stated, "We are a peaceful people, but we are brave as well. Do not mess with Venezuela!"
