Barricades block traffic in different areas of Caracas

In Sanz Avenue, El Marqués, northeast Caracas, in Vollmer Avenue, San Bernardino, north Caracas, El Cafetal Boulevard, the main street of Los Naranjos, and El Hatillo, southeast Caracas, traffic was blocked on Wednesday

On Wednesday the Prados del Este highway leading to downtown Caracas was blocked at Santa Rosa de Lima, southeast, by a barricade that resulted in a traffic jam in the area. Some sections of Rómulo Gallegos Avenue, northeast, were partly closed, with only one lane open in each direction. The main street of Santa Fe, southeast, was left with one lane open and traffic to Valle Arriba, southeast, was totally blocked.

In Sanz Avenue, El Marqués, northeast Caracas, in Vollmer Avenue, San Bernardino, north Caracas, El Cafetal Boulevard, the main street of Los Naranjos, and El Hatillo and El Cigarral, southeast Caracas, traffic was also blocked on Wednesday.

People reported on social networks that access to the highway from La Guairita, east, was blocked, as well as at the Río Janeiro Avenue, at La California Sur, southeast Caracas. There was only one lane open to La Trinidad, southeast Caracas.

In southwest Caracas, at El Paraíso, barricades were set. A heavy number of National Guard officers was reported.

Additionally, service was suspended in some Metrobus routes.
