On national TV and radio, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro referred to US TV news channel CNN on Thursday with reference to its reports on the events taking place in Venezuelan since the breakout of demonstrations on February 12.

"CNN is leaving Venezuela. We have already set in motion an administrative case to get them out. If they fail to rectify, they will leave Venezuela. I do not accept any war propagandas," the president said.

"24 hours a day of war programs. They want to show the world that Venezuela is facing a civil war. People are working, studying, and building the homeland in Venezuela," Maduro remarked.

The president noted that he has instructed the minister of communication and information to notify CNN about the administrative proceedings brought against it to withdraw it from cable operators if "they fail to rectify."
