Leopoldo López will lead a march Tuesday to the Ministry of the Interior

The leader of opposition party Voluntad Popular (People's Will) announced that he will stand up and face the government accusations against him. At the Interior Ministry, he will submit a document calling for the release of detainees and an investigation to determine the State's responsibility in the killings occurred on 12 February

Leopoldo López challenges the Venezuelan government. Through a video posted on YouTube, the leader of Voluntad Popular (People's Will) called for a march he will lead next Tuesday from Plaza Venezuela, east Caracas, to the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace, in Urdaneta Avenue, downtown Caracas

"I've taken a few days to think, to share with my family and to make the best decision at this time. I'll keep on fighting in the street, hand in hand with the people," said López, who added that the Interior Ministry has become "the symbol of the repression, persecution, torture and lies."

At the Interior Ministry, he will submit a document calling for the release of detainees and an investigation to determine the State's responsibility in the killings occurred on 12 February.

Further, in his document, López intends to calls for the immediate disarmament of "paramilitary groups and groups that have been responsible for killings and insecurity."
