Gerardo Fernández, a member of the legal staff of Simón Bolívar Command, the opposition campaign team, reported on the challenge to the presidential election of April 14 filed at the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ) on Thursday. He said that the complaint is contained in a paper of more than 180 pages.

The constitutionalist attorney explained that the opposition coalition impeached the whole election. "It is not only the event of April 14, but also all the stages of such event (...) the campaign, vices in the register of voters, the system through which it took place. Unbalance, misuse of public monies, all the irregularities that occurred on and after the Election Day," he specified.

The complaint also contains the failure to conduct the audit, as requested by ex presidential opposition candidate Henrique Capriles Radonski from the National Election Council (CNE), and intimidation and onslaught on people after the ballots.

"Dear sirs, democracy is not voting only. Voters should vote in freedom," the lawyer clarified.
