Venezuelan former presidential candidate Henrique Capriles on Monday said that opposition campaign team Simón Bolívar is working hard to contest by May 6 the results of the presidential vote held on April 14.  He outlined that the action could be filed after Thursday.

"I have no doubt that this matter will be brought to international bodies. Any time soon, our country will hold another election. Be confident and have faith (...) lies are fragile," Capriles stated.

Regarding the announcement made by president of the National Electoral Council Tibisay Lucena that the election audit would not be carried out under the terms proposed by opposition coalition Unified Democratic Panel (MUD), Capriles underscored: "President Lucena, your problem is that the (ruling) party told you not to conduct the audit. The audit you want to carry out is a sham."
