VP Maduro: The homeland should be grateful for the sacrifice of soldiers
Thanks to February 4, 1992, "the process of economic re-colonization that the bourgeois hawkers were imposing at that time"
"The homeland will have to thank you forever for your sacrifice to open up to it the doors to a new era of resurrection and dignity," the vice-president addressed to military officers during a ceremony held at Caracas Military Historical Museum, apropos the commemoration of the events of February 4, 1992.
Thanks to February 4, 1992, "the process of economic re-colonization that the bourgeois hawkers were imposing at that time," Maduro argued.
He said that the causes of February 4 should be found in the country history, including the fight for independence and national sovereignty.
To Maduro's mind, the reasons for the military uprising led by President Hugo Chávez can be found in the contemporary history, in the eighties, particularly the riots known as "El Caracazo."
