Chávez meets with Congress speaker and defense minister
Late on Friday, Vice-President Nicolás Maduro said that President Hugo Chávez addressed several issues in a meeting in Havana with Diosdado Cabello, the Speaker of the National Assembly, and Diego Molero, the Minister of Defense. Maduro added that Chávez "has entered a new phase of treatment"

"In a few hours, we will have news, because they (Diosdado Cabello and Diego Molero) submitted to him (Chávez) a number of topics for consideration," said Maduro, adding that the Venezuelan president continues to comply with his work agenda, thus performing his duties.
The vice-president said Molero sent "the greetings of our Bolivarian National Armed Forces" to Chávez, state-run news agency AVN reported.
Regarding Chávez's health, Maduro added the Venezuelan president "has started a new phase of treatment," following completion of the post-operative stage. "Fortunately, the post-operative stage has been completed and the president entered a new phase of treatment for his disease. He is recovering gradually and gaining strength," Maduro said.
Maduro stressed that Chávez "isvery proud and very happy for the Venezuelan people's support."
