Cabello: As Chávez is the people, people will take oath
Venezuelan Congress' Speaker Diosdado Cabello stressed that the head of Congress may only take office as President of Venezuela upon declaration of the president's full absence before being sworn in for his new presidential term
In a rally held on Wednesday in support of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, Speaker of the National Assembly (AN) Diosdado Cabello stressed, "There is widespread support and full identification with commander Chávez across the country." He remarked that commitment and brotherhood are two aspects within Chavezism that are "unstoppable."
At the rally, Cabello stressed that people who hate him want him to take the presidential office temporarily. "They are insane," the leader said adding that "the more they (the opposition) hate me, the more certain I am that I am in the right track."
Cabello remarked that the AN's speaker may only take office as President of Venezuela upon declaration of the president's full absence before being sworn in for his new presidential term.
Referring to the events scheduled for Thursday in support of Chávez, Cabello expressed that tomorrow the Venezuela people will be sworn in as the national leader because "Chávez is the people."
Ever since last March 9, when US President Barack Obama issued an Executive Order declaring Venezuela an "unusual and extraordinary threat" to the United States, the Venezuelan government has screamed denunciations of supposed plans of invasion or military incursion by the United States.
