Venezuelan VP to Chávez: we will be loyal even after life
Authorities would not disclose the date when the Venezuelan Head of State would undergo surgery
However, in none of the rallies, Maduro, who is also the foreign minister, provided information about the surgery that Chávez will undergo to remove a third malignant tumor. However, on Monday, sources said that the Venezuelan leader underwent surgery soon after his arrival in Havana, in view of his delicate health conditions.
During the rallies, the vice-president recalled the achievements gained during Chávez's administration, yet he did not reveal when the leader will undergo surgery, who will be his surgeons, or the consequences involved. He only urged people to pray the Our Father with him and pray for Chávez health recovery.
Although former Vice-President Elías Jaua was also present during the rallies, he did not provide any information about Chávez surgery either.
"When President Chávez uttered such words on Saturday and said he was lucky to be accompanied by all of us, we had this feeling...it is true. Chávez has a people. Even after life, we will be loyal to Hugo Chávez. Another election is not at stake right now. In this election and in every election, the homeland is at stake, the future," Maduro remarked with tears in his eyes and his voice broken.
