As many as 45 bodies had been taken to Bello Monte morgue in Caracas from Friday morning through Monday morning, according to unofficial sources.

The body of Roberto José Pinto, 29, a detective of the Scientific, Criminal and Forensic Investigation Agency (Cicpc), was added to the weekend account.

The police agent was killed on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.

Police sources disclosed that a man dead shot Pinto to steal his regulation firearm.

According to a version, Pinto was leaving the place of some friends of him when he was attacked by the criminal.

Thus far this year, 95 police agents have been murdered in the Greater Caracas.

This is all there is

A simple reason: there is oil galore, would suffice to explain Guyana's actions. Another explanation lies in the little or none efforts made by the Venezuelan government to thwart the move by the Guyanese. This is certainly not a new problem, but a problem only recently highlighted because oil is involved. But what other resources does the disputed area hold? For most of us it is a section on the map with black and white stripes on it, a depiction of something distant, alien, a nothingness not worth paying much attention to in geography classes back in elementary school.
