The electoral campaign for the gubernatorial election to be held in Venezuela on December 16 begins on Thursday in Venezuela, and finishes on December 13.

There are 135 candidates for 23 governor's offices. Also, 237 seats in legislative councils will be elected on December 16.
The local election of 335 mayors, two Metropolitan mayors and 335 municipal chambers (the latter postponed since 2009) will be held in April 2013.
