National Electoral Council (CNE) Socorro Hernández said that the proclamation of President Hugo Chávez, reelected for the fourth time with 7,444,062 votes (54.8%) has been scheduled for Wednesday.
Hernández stressed on Sunday that there were no reasons to dismiss the election results which gave the victory to President Chávez.
In her opinion, the country "has matured a lot," therefore, any attempt at disregarding the results would have been unsuccessful.
"Acting otherwise would have meant the removal of any political future," she told TV network Telesur.
