The Venezuelan cherishes reelection for additional six years in office
The Venezuelan leader, elected in 1999, is seeking reelection to remain in office for a total of 20 years.
Chávez was joined by Vice-President Elías Jaua and Minister of Foreign Affaire Nicolás Maduro, among other senior government officers.
Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Brazil on March 13 to demand the ouster of embattled President Dilma Rousseff, carrying banners expressing anger at bribery scandals and economic woes. A banner read "We don't want a new Venezuela in Brazil."
