National Electoral Council's director Socorro Hernández informed that 100% of the voting centers have already received the election kit, and added that a large number of poll workers and election witnesses have been accredited.
Hernández reaffirmed that the council has already adopted all the contingency mechanism, "including technological equipment and coordination with public institutions," such as telephone company CANTV, power company Corpoelec, Ministry of Education, the armed forces' election security and protection operation Plan República, among others.
Furthermore, she pointed out the transparency of the electoral system and its high level of security. "It (the system) does not allow any deviation," Hernández said and added that there are "many people taking a close look at the election."
Hernández informed that the results to be announced by the council are to mirror the "true" will of voters, and stressed that results will be published only after the numbers show an irreversible trend. "We provide the results," the director said and highlighted that the council was the only institution accredited for such purpose.
