Venezuelan opposition leader and presidential candidate Henrique Capriles Radonski pledged on Sunday he will extend welfare programs to all those citizens in need by creating new programs, keeping the programs currently in place, and reinforcing those poorly operating.
He also stressed that social food network Mercal must be improved and extended, whereas queuing up must be eliminated. Capriles also raised the need to add products, particularly Venezuelan.
Regarding Barrio Adentro, health units provided for slum areas, the candidate vowed to resume operations in closed units and allow Venezuelan physicians to operate them.
With respect to housing program Gran Misión Vivienda Venezuela, Capriles said, "It can be improved by building more homes and specially delivering them along with their certificates of ownership. All for free. Moreover, those working in social programs shall be protected by the welfare."
He highlighted that most Venezuelans are fully aware that the current government will not be able to achieve, in six more years, goals it has not achieved over the last 14 years leading the country.
