Kenyan police captured a Venezuelan diplomat for the murder of Venezuelan chargé d'affaires Olga Fonseca, the Supreme Court of Kenya reported on Monday.
Fonseca was found dead inside her official residence last Friday. The police informed that she had been strangled. However, the reason has not been clarified, Reuters quoted.
Dwight Sagaray, senior secretary of the Venezuelan Embassy, was detained on Saturday. The Kenyan police made on Monday a request for remand in custody for additional 14 days.
Sagaray, wearing a yellow-green baseball sweatshirt, looked sorrowful while embassy officials looked at the action.
"The investigation is incomplete and we need some more time to collect crucial evidence and apprehend other suspects," Tabitha Ouya deputy prosecutor explained.
