Venezuela lambastes terrorist attack in Syria

The Venezuelan government has blasted a terrorist attack perpetrated on Wednesday in Damascus, the capital city of Syria, killing civilians and top regime officials.

In a press release from the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Hugo Chávez expressed in the name of the Venezuelan people sympathy for the Syrian people, AVN cited.

"The government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reasserts its commitment in the quest of peace and backs any initiatives at peaceful solution of the conflict with due respect of the sovereignty and self-determination of the Syrian people," the communiqué read.
