Authorities investigate robbery of Guatemalan Consul in Venezuela

The Attorney General Office designated the 26th public prosecutor of the Caracas metropolitan area, Alexander García, to investigate the theft of a Hyundai truck driven by the Guatemalan consul and first secretary in Venezuela Myra Elizabeth Gutiérrez Menegazzo. It occurred on June 28 in Orinoco Avenue of El Recreo parish, on the Libertador municipality.
García leads the investigation that is conducted by the Scientific, Criminal and Forensic Investigation Agency (Cicpc). The agency is conducting the technical tests necessary to establish the criminal liabilities arising from the situation.
According to the preliminary information, the diplomat was intercepted by armed men in the avenue mentioned, where in addition she was stripped of her belongings.
The vehicle was recovered later that day in the Sucre parish of Libertador municipality.
