Thousands of followers of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez arrived early on Monday in Caracas Square, downtown Caracas, from various regions of the country. They are waiting for Chávez to make formal his candidacy at the National Electoral Council (CNE).
The roads leading to the Venezuelan top electoral body in Caracas were shut down to car traffic in order to let Chávez's followers access the place where Chávez is to make his candidacy formal on Monday at 4 pm.
Following his enrollment, Chávez is expected to address his followers gathered at Caracas Square.
