On Tuesday noon, an edited video footage of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez was shown in a nationwide mandatory broadcast on all free-to-air TV and radio channels. In the video, Chávez is in Havana, Cuba, where he is undergoing radiation therapy.

In the edited footage, the Venezuelan Head of State appears in a garden with his brother and governor of the state of Barinas Adán Chávez, his eldest daughter Rosa Virginia, and one of his grandchildren. Foreign Minister Nicolás Maduro and Minister of Science and Technology Jorge Arreaza were also in the video.

The Venezuelan government had previously released some photos where the Venezuelan president appeared playing "bolas criollas," a version of lawn bowling in the same garden, DPA reported.

The photos were shot on Monday, said Venezuelan Minister of Communication and Information, Andrés Izarra.
