Venezuela's Defense Minister General-in-Chief Henry Rangel Silva thanked former Cuban President Fidel Castro for his public support, in an interview made in Caracas to the Venezuelan general, AFP reported. Rangel Silva has been accused by the United States of involvement in drug trafficking.
"In these times when I have been ruthlessly attacked by domestic and foreign groups, it is a great honor, and I am very proud that Commander Fidel (Castro) in one of his Reflections has written a few lines to support this humble Venezuelan soldier," Rangel said in an interview in Caracas with the Cuban TV network.
Castro said on January 26 in one of his press articles entitled Reflection: "I would like to express my solidarity and consideration" to General Rangel. The Cuban ex president also said that the Venezuelan General-in-Chief is "an intelligent, sound, capable yet modest man."
