Opposition pre-candidate warns against Chávez's possible self-coup
The independent pre-candidate described Venezuela s political situation in a document
Venezuela's presidential pre-candidate Pablo Medina submitted a document at the headquarters of the Organization of American States (OAS) in which he examined Venezuela's political situation and warned against the possibility of a self-coup by current President Hugo Chávez.
According to Medina's letter, the Venezuelan government could carry out a self-coup on October 7, 2012 following Chávez's statement a few days ago when he said that the National Armed Force supports Chavezism.
Medina said that the government intends not to hand over power after the presidential elections. The opposition pre-candidate insisted that the international organizations should reject such possibility. Medina will also submit the document to the office of the United Nations in Caracas.
