Supreme Tribunal of Justice opens the legal year
Luisa Estella Morales, the president of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ), is presenting a report on the activities carried out by the judiciary branch
Venezuela's President Hugo Chávez arrived Tuesday in the headquarters of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ) to attend the formal opening session of the legal year.
Chávez greeted briefly Justice Eladio Aponte Aponte, against whom the Republican Moral Council has filed a lawsuit for allegedly granting two credentials from the Supreme Tribunal of Justice to presumed drug trafficker Walid Makled. The Venezuelan president talked for several minutes with the rest of Venezuelan Justices.
The event, which started at 11 a.m., is taking place at the main TSJ auditorium and began with a speech delivered by Justice Luisa Estella Morales, the president of the TSJ, who is presenting a report on the activities carried out by the judiciary branch.
The keynote speaker will be Arcadio Delgado Rosales, a TSJ Constitutional Court's Justice and director of the National School of Judges.
