The Venezuelan Bishops' Conference (CEV) presented on Thursday a document with the findings of their Regular Plenary Meeting, calling for reconciliation and tolerance between Venezuelan political actors and people.
Monsignor Diego Padrón, the Archbishop of the city of Cumaná (northeastern Venezuela) and newly appointed president of the Venezuelan Bishops' Conference, read the document. He highlighted the need to have an effective and reliable rule of law to assure the coexistence of citizens, the reconciliation of Venezuelans, and the implementation of the disarmament law, among other aspects.
"When you take stock of the needs and expectations of the country, the most urgent issues are security, employment, housing, health, goals and quality of education, roads and food production," the document read.
