Minister of Petroleum and Mining and president of state-run oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa) Rafaél Ramírez informed that Amuay refinery, which belongs to the Paraguaná Refining Center (CRP) (northwestern Falcón state) has increased its processing capacity to 300,000 barrels per day (bpd).  The full processing capacity of the facility is 600,000 bpd.

On August 25, a fire took place in the storage tanks area of the refinery, which forced a preventive stop.  Then, on August 29, operations were progressively resumed.

Ramirez informed that the four atmospheric distillation units were working.  He added that current national fuel stocks were enough for 11 days.

Nevertheless, as it is already known, President Maduro changed his mind.
