Authorities of Coromoto Hospital, Maracaibo, the capital city of western Zulia state, revealed the decease of two injured people taken there with serious burns as a result of the blast in Amuay refinery.

One of the victims, Mervin González, 23, was a sergeant of the National Guard, deployed at the refinery less than one month ago. Later on, about 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, hospital doctors confirmed the death of soldier Ender Fernández González, 24. Both of them suffered burns in more than 90% of their bodies, in addition to severe injuries in their heads, abdomen and chests. They were admitted on Saturday evening.

It was disclosed as well after midday that Isbelia Rodríguez, 65, with burns in 75% of her body, somewhat worsened and her health status was very critical.

Other seven patients are stable, Valdéz confirmed.

Coromoto Hospital admitted nine patients with serious burns.

The very early morning after the presidential election (April 15), both candidates requested the National Electoral Council (CNE) to conduct a full audit of the process:  one, Henrique Capriles, because he asserts that the election results are different from the ones announced, and the other one, Nicolás Maduro, in order to clear any doubt regarding his victory, and to reinforce his political stance.
