Capriles: "Oil is the only income source we rely on"

Addressing local residents during a rally in the state of Mérida, west Venezuela, opposition presidential candidate Henrique Capriles Radonski spoke about the Venezuelan economic situation, and stressed that "oil is the only revenue source we rely on."
Further, he vowed to encourage Venezuelan domestic production and tourism.
He reaffirmed that Venezuela may become a world-class tourism destination in the future. He also mentioned that farmers will be given support to boost domestic agriculture production. "Rather than buying potatoes from our farmers in Mucuchíes (state of Mérida), the (current) Government buys potatoes from Bolivia," said Capriles. He added that farmers are given support, "but at the same time, goods are being imported from other countries."

The very early morning after the presidential election (April 15), both candidates requested the National Electoral Council (CNE) to conduct a full audit of the process: one, Henrique Capriles, because he asserts that the election results are different from the ones announced, and the other one, Nicolás Maduro, in order to clear any doubt regarding his victory, and to reinforce his political stance. Nevertheless, as it is already known, President Maduro changed his mind.
