GDP will amount to USD 400 billion by the end of the year
Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez claimed that inflation "continues its downward trend" and said that the "figures are positive" as the Consumer Price Index in July reveals.
The leader said that the GDP figures of the second quarter are higher than those in the first quarter, when growth stood at 5.6%.
President Chávez also said that the economy will continue its upward trend and GDP will amount to USD 400 billion by the end of the year.
José Vicente Rangel clearly said: "We are not conducting negotiations threatened with a gun in the head." He warned behind closed doors in the midst of the social upheaval occurred during the oil strike in 2002 and 2003. Dissenting Timoteo Zambrano answered back that no other option was available: "The thing is that otherwise, you do not negotiate."
