The Venezuelan oil basket averaged this week USD 92.77 per barrel, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mining posted on its Twitter account.
This means that the price slipped back 10 cents from USD 92.87 last week. The ministry explained on its website that last week was characterized by volatility with mixed results in the main hydrocarbons markets.
Following the slight drop this week, the annual average price of the Venezuelan basket continues downhill. Right now, it is at USD 106.77, compared with the prior average of USD 107.29 per barrel; this means a drop of 52 cents.
Last week, Venezuelan oil gained USD 6.70, thus ending with a downward trend for eight weeks in a row.
