The president of the Venezuelan Council of Trade and Services (Consecomercio) said that it is "very risky" to try to determine and control the prices of so many products
Carlos Fernández, the president of the Venezuelan Council of Trade and Services (Consecomercio), reported that storekeepers fear that the Superintendence of Fair Costs and Prices (Sundecop) will cut prices of 19 products.
"People who are at the end of the marketing supply chain fear that prices will be cut and products will have to be sold below the price they paid," Fernández said.
The business leader reiterated that it is "very risky" to try to determine and control the prices of so many products.
According to reports by Venezuelan authorities, from January 15 Sundecop is scheduled to announce the new prices of 19 items with frozen prices. The list with the new prices was expected to be published on February 1.
