Elena de Brito, wife of Venezuelan farmer Franklin Brito, who died Monday night, said they are awaiting a coroner close to the family who offered to serve as a witness in the autopsy to be conducted in the morgue of the military hospital Dr. Carlos Arvelo.
"I am waiting for the coroner who offered to serve as a witness for the family in the procedure they are going to do here (at the military hospital morgue) and they can say whatever they want," Elena de Brito told El Universal in an interview.
Elena de Brito asked the Venezuelan people to continue fighting for their country. "Let's fight because we can, we are going to make it. Let's move on. We can not allow that they take away our rights, our homeland."
"Franklin defended not only his rights but the rights of all the Venezuelan people who were being harassed and have no option to complain or to fight against this strong, harsh and evil government," she said.
Franklin Brito, 49, died on Monday at 9:00 p.m., apparently of a heart attack.
Since Friday, August 20, the Venezuelan farmer remained unconscious, as a result of an induced coma. "It looks like he had a heart attack. Doctors tried to resuscitate him but they were unsuccessful," Franklin Brito Jr. told El Universal.
