The workers have not been received so far by authorities, said Manuel Díaz, director of Venalum trade union
The workers of Venezuelan aluminum smelter CVG Venalum, who met on Friday morning in an extraordinary assembly, agreed to maintain the protest they started on Thursday, reported Manuel Díaz, director of the smelter's trade union.
He said that in the midst of the workers' assembly "a group of representatives of Workers Governance, who work at the plant, tried to sabotage, but they could not do so because the majority of in-house and outsourced workers agreed to keep on protesting to alert the managers of the aluminum smelter against the chaos prevailing in the plant: disregard of meritocracy, lack of technological improvements, and non-renewal of their collective bargaining agreement."
The workers have not been received so far by authorities, said Manuel Díaz, director of Venalum trade union.
