Venezuela and Cuba will organize a joint venture to manufacture "electric cables with copper core," to supply the Venezuelan and Caribbean markets.
Carlos Azzari, the president of Venezuelan state-run company Aluminio del Caroní (Cabelum), Carlos Azzari, announced the organization of the joint venture, but he would not disclose the shareholder structure and the investment.
Azzari told state-run news agency AVN that the creation of the joint venture "will significantly increase the supply of electrical conductors for the domestic and Caribbean electricity markets."
02:57 PM. HEAVY RAINS. Venezuelan Executive Vice-President Elias Jaua reported that the government is designing plans to support farmers, cattlemen and peasants of the state of Mérida who have been hit by heavy rains that have caused crop losses.
