Maduro said that he talked with García Belaunde about the future and peace to be pursued in the region
Venezuela is "concerned" about the behavior of the outgoing Colombian government, which "threatens the security of our country," said Nicolás Maduro, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, in Lima after a meeting with his Peruvian counterpart, José García Belaunde.
"We have expressed our concern about the behavior of the outgoing Colombian government (led by President Álvaro Uribe), which is a direct threat to stability and security in our country," Maduro said after a meeting with García Belaunde in Lima. Maduro is visiting Lima as part of a tour of several Latin American countries, AFP reported.
Maduro said that he talked with García Belaunde about the future and peace to be pursued in the region.
"We have shared a message of peace with the governments of the region. We want to speak from the Union of South American Nations (Unasur) about a zone of peace where we may focus on working for economic and social development," the foreign minister said.
