Venezuela's Attorney General Luisa Ortega Díaz reported on Thursday that a Venezuelan court asked the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) to arrest and deport Nelson Mezerhane, a Venezuelan businessman and shareholder of anti-government TV station Globovisión for the case of Banco Federal. Mezerhane is residing in the United States.

Ortega added that the Control Court that investigates the case of Banco Federal, which was seized by the government, issued an international arrest warrant for Nelson Mezerhane, who is in the United States.

"Katherine Harrington, the 61st public prosecutor of the metropolitan area of Caracas, who is investigating the case of Banco Federal, filed the petition and the court agreed," Ortega Díaz said, as reported by DPA.

The Attorney General disagreed with Interpol because it has not included Venezuelan government's petition in the "red list." "They (Interpol) believe this is political persecution. What are their criteria?" Ortega wondered.

Nevertheless, as it is already known, President Maduro changed his mind.
