According to attorney at law Héctor Faúndez, the government is trying to establish prior censorship in Venezuela

Human rights and international law expert Héctor Faúndez said that "the (Venezuelan) government is apparently seeking to infringe freedom of expressions little by little."
He recalls that the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela has acted against radio stations, TV networks, dissenting demonstrators, the press, crimes of opinion and now against the Internet.
Faúndez added that the Internet is a media and as such international human rights laws protect it.
"The Government is trying to establish a mechanism for prior censorship, which is prohibited by the Constitution and by international treaties and ratified by Venezuela," h stated.

Two years later, subsequent to the bank interventions that affected 14 private institutions, Public Prosecutor Office maintains investigations open, these concern the public funds that ended up at some of those organisms and were utilized in shady financial operations, this is included among the accusations held by the Public Ministry against some bankers.
