"The Internet cannot be a space without law," Attorney General Luisa Ortega Díaz said and encouraged the National Assembly (AN) to make a related law.

"I think that the Internet cannot be a space without law; all ongoing activities in Venezuelan territory should be subject to regulations, any activity conducted by Venezuelans should be subject to Venezuelan laws," she added.

"Therefore, the Internet if not free from it and the National Assembly has the responsibility for rulemaking on this subject," the Attorney General said.

Further, Ortega Díaz rebutted a report issued by the Inter-American Court on Human Rights on the situation of human rights in Venezuela.

"Venezuela has been characterized by respecting physical integrity; by respecting the right to life and the right to freedom. We have fought for respect of these rights, and some times it occurs that at the international level, some spokesmen purport to discredit and disqualify the Venezuelan State in this regard."
